Founder Executive Director, Dorris Mollel Foundation, 

Cohort 14, Tanzania,

The Doris Mollel Foundation is a renowned NGO that works with the government and private stakeholders to cater to the needs of premature babies in Tanzania. The organization equips hospitals with medical equipment, trains healthcare workers and communities, and leads coalitions focused on sexual reproductive health and rights, children, and climate change. The foundation has equipped over 60 district and regional hospitals with medical equipment to support premature babies worth Tshs1,000,000,000 ($423,400) saving over 15,000 premature babies' lives and led amendments to the parental leave law in Tanzania and the East Africa Region to extend leave for parents with premature and low birth weight infants. The foundation also influenced the government to allocate 23.36 billion Tanzanian Shillings for construction of 100 NICUs and training community healthcare workers on neonate care. Additionally, the foundation leads the Tanzania Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Coalition comprised of 82 organizations, overseeing and guiding long-term strategic goals and objectives.
