The Chapter is registered by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau as a Company Limited by guarantee. It has been very active with well-organized alumni engagement initiatives such as the US Impact Awards held in January 2023 to award outstanding Alumni from US-funded programs i.e. YALI RLC EA, MWF, CSP, Fulbright, IVLP, etc. It has organized community outreaches, business forums, information sessions, sports events and beach networking events among others. The Chapter has set up a secretariat office and has five regional hubs and a website increasing its online presence. It has demonstrated ability to raise funds through cohort contributions totalling to $130, two-time recipient of a visibility grant from the US Embassy in Uganda amounting to $30,000 as well as an Alumni Impact Awards Grant worth $47,000 from the Embassy. The Chapter also received a Transformation Fund grant from YALI RLC EA worth $8,000. It has forged strong collaborations with the US Government and USG-led organizations in the country. The Chapter also organizes deep dive sessions where subject experts inspire alumni in their leadership endeavours. In future, the Chapter aims to set up a YALI business incubation hub, mobilize more resources to invest in alumni initiatives, strengthen partnerships with alumni organizations and establish a training center to cascade trainings to other young leaders.
